Madeline Grace: Twenty-Six Weeks

Now that you're sitting, and trying to eat everything in sight, we decided to finally let you start trying some solids!  You weren't too sure about the oatmeal cereal at first, but that might have been because I ground it up myself quickly, and it was pretty lumpy.  Since then, though, you are loving everything we give you and seem so excited to finally get to eat some real food.  Nursing has not slowed down in the slightest, which is about what I remember with your sister, too.

You went to your first football game this week, too!  Pastor Brad's daughter made the Freshman Cheer team at her school, so we went to watch her perform at Homecoming.  I'm sure you had no idea what was going on, but you loved the shiny pom-poms that your sister got to hold.

You also had your six month check-up with Dr. B this week, and you are 17 lbs, 4 oz, and 27 inches, pretty much right in the 75th-90th percentile, so no surprises there!  I am so glad to see that some hair is finally growing in on the front of your head so you won't be a little old man anymore, too :)  Just kidding, you're the cutest ever.  I forgot how challenging of an age six months is, though.  Eating, sitting, grabbing, toys, wanting to be entertained, wanting to move--you are definitely not just a portable blob anymore!  It is so much fun seeing your personality develop, but it sure is exhausting!
