Lilly Anne: 8 Weeks

Hey big girl! You had a super week this week! I taught my first Kaplan SAT prep course on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and you had lots of Daddy time. Saturday was a little rough, but you did great on Sunday. You also got to visit the girls at Alpha Phi twice--everyone loved you of course! They all recognize you from #lillyannebabyspam--you're famous! On Sunday, Ashley brought Addie over to the house too, and you girls wore your matching Alpha Phi tutus from our baby shower. It was pretty much the cutest thing ever.

Sunday night, after all that excitement, the most exciting thing for us happened: you slept in your crib for 8 hours straight! It freaked both of us out because we'd keep waking up, checking the clock, and checking you, but you were out like a light. You made noises a few times, but never cried or got hungry until about 5:30! You haven't done that since, but you did great in your crib the next few nights, only waking up to eat around 2:30 and 5:30.  Tuesday we slept in late, but then you let me be super productive trying to get us all packed to leave for Disneyland on Wednesday. And oh my goodness was there a lot to pack!  I always rolled my eyes at those people who said babies need so much stuff and thought that they obviously didn't understand the value of simplicity, but it turns out they were right.  Bouncy chair, clothes, blankets, 1001 burp cloths, bath sponge, diapers, wipes, binkies (sidebar: why do so many baby products start with a "b"?), pump, bottles, the list goes on and on.  And on. I don't know how your daddy got all of that plus your stroller plus our bags, plus us into the car, but we somehow did it.

Wednesday morning we drove down to see your grandparents in Irvine, and you slept the whole way except for when we hit LA traffic, but I don't blame you because I hate it too! You were so happy when you finally got out of that carseat and could flail around on the blanket. We even put you in the pool, although you were a little skeptical of that. Overall, you have been such a happy and easygoing baby this week, for which we are so thankful!!

Um, how stinking cute is is baby swimsuit?

Your head is getting so strong too! You almost don't look smushed and awkward in the chair now.
